About Me

Su Shwe Yi Phyo is a dedicated student entrepreneur from Myanmar, driven by a profound belief in grassroots change. Her entrepreneurial journey is fueled by a desire to forge a better future not just for herself, but for her entire community. She thrives on action and initiative, balancing multiple roles as a tutor since 2022, an international volunteer, and a business owner. As a violinist, she not only finds artistic expression but also professional engagement, further showcasing her diverse talents. This unique blend of experiences across education, arts, and social advocacy has built her character into a powerful combination of strategic thinking and genuine warmth. Beyond her drive for social change, Su is deeply passionate about the communication arts and international relations, seeing them as essential tools for building bridges and empowering youth. She is currently channeling all of her energy and experience into her social enterprise, SALT, through the UN Youth Ambassador Programme.

Project Description

SALT (Sustainable Actions for Learning and Transformation) is a social enterprise designed to combat educational inequality and support local communities in Myanmar. Our model creates a sustainable cycle of impact: we provide affordable, high-quality courses in essential skills like English and leadership to youth aged 15 to 25. The income generated is safely and strategically stored in a safe account, and 100% of the income is donated as critical supplies to local orphanages and schools. Inspired by a successfully piloted initiative during the March 2025 Mandalay earthquake, SALT is built on a foundation of proven, tangible impact. Our vision is to become an essential element in Myanmar's growth, empowering a generation of skilled young leaders who can transform their communities from within.
