About Me
My name is Ranice, a Grade 10 student studying at the Canadian International School of Hong Kong. My interests span a wide range of activities, including taekwondo, badminton, playing the flute, and engaging in various community projects. In my role with Reading Tree, I have the privilege of reading books to middle schoolers who need extra support, and through fundraising campaigns like CDNIS Bid, we’ve successfully raised significant funds to enhance literacy initiatives in our community. I believe in the power of education and the importance of giving back, which drives me to connect with others and make a difference.
Project Description
My project focuses on empowering seniors to navigate the world of smartphones, recognizing the critical challenges they face in today’s digital landscape. Motivated by my experiences with my grandmother, I noticed how difficult it can be for elderly individuals living alone to understand and utilize technology, often relying on icons that can be confusing. By providing educational workshops tailored to their needs, I aim to help seniors gain the confidence they need to stay connected with family and access essential services.
Through these workshops, I hope to foster a supportive community where seniors can learn and share their experiences, ultimately enhancing their independence and quality of life.
